Online Accounting & Tax Services Nationwide
Work with McGregor Financial Services remotely, wherever you are in the United States. Connect business accounting, financial reporting and federal tax support through an agreed service scope and a clear communication process.
Fort Lauderdale based. Available for remote engagements.
A financial relationship that works beyond your location
For a small business owner, an online accountant should help make the records usable: which accounts reconcile, what the business earned and what still needs attention before filing. For individuals with complex income, remote tax preparation starts with understanding the documents and circumstances behind the return.
MFS works with operating businesses, self-employed professionals, business owners and individuals who want accounting and tax support without routine office visits. Service availability and state-specific requirements are confirmed during onboarding. Our existing Fort Lauderdale and South Florida relationships remain part of the same practice.

Explore tax preparationHow your remote engagement works
- Start with a conversation. Email or call MFS with your location, entity types, the support you need and upcoming deadlines. Do not send sensitive financial documents with an initial inquiry.
- Confirm fit and responsibilities. The team reviews service availability, state-specific requirements, existing records and timing. Agree scope, fees, reporting frequency, who supplies information and who approves filings before work begins.
- Share records securely. After engagement arrangements are confirmed, use the MFS client portal for requested documents and authorized access. Coordinate the handoff of prior records and identify gaps before recurring work or return preparation starts.
- Keep a defined reporting rhythm. Scheduled calls, record requests and review touchpoints connect the work to your priorities. For recurring accounting, review financial statements and unresolved items; for tax work, review questions and completed returns before authorized filing.
Why work with MFS online?
Tax work is led by Justin Boodram, IRS Enrolled Agent. The approach connects accounting records with the income, entities and decisions behind a filing, so your questions have context. The Enrolled Agent credential concerns federal tax practice and taxpayer representation; it does not establish a CPA designation or blanket state service authorization.
A defined scope and direct communication help you understand what MFS is preparing, what information is outstanding and what decisions require your input. If your books need repair first, accounting cleanup and tax readiness can be considered before an ongoing reporting schedule. For forward-looking tax questions, explore tax planning and advisory.
Match the engagement to your financial situation
This page explains working remotely with MFS. Dedicated hubs cover the additional accounting and tax needs of real estate investors and maritime businesses. Financial oversight beyond recurring records is addressed separately through Personal CFO for individuals and families and Fractional CFO for established businesses.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I work with MFS if I live outside Florida?
MFS welcomes inquiries from businesses and individuals throughout the United States. Remote service availability, your entities, filing obligations and any state-specific requirements are reviewed before an engagement is accepted. Our physical office is in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
What does a virtual accountant need from my business?
After scope is agreed, onboarding may include prior financial statements and returns, bank and credit-card statements, bookkeeping files, entity information and a list of outstanding items. MFS confirms the records and authorized access needed for your work through the client portal.
Can I combine online accounting and tax preparation?
Yes, where agreed in the engagement. Recurring bookkeeping, reconciliations and financial reporting can support business federal tax preparation and planning. Individual tax preparation may be scoped separately. Cleanup, state filings and advisory projects are confirmed rather than assumed to be included.
How often will I receive reports and speak with the team?
The engagement establishes a reporting schedule, delivery responsibilities and review touchpoints. Monthly accounting may include a profit and loss statement, balance sheet and reconciliation follow-up. Calls and document requests are coordinated around that schedule; tax-only engagements follow a filing and review timetable.
Is MFS a CPA firm?
MFS identifies Justin Boodram as an IRS Enrolled Agent. That federal tax credential is distinct from a CPA license. The accounting services described here do not include audit or financial-statement assurance, and state-specific service requirements are checked during onboarding.
Do I need to visit the Fort Lauderdale office?
Remote engagements use document sharing and scheduled communication rather than requiring routine office visits. If you prefer a local relationship, MFS also serves Fort Lauderdale and South Florida clients. Contact the team to confirm the arrangement appropriate for your needs.
